BMW_MiniUK logistics provider, Acumen Automotive Logistics, based in Coventry, has won a three-year contract with the BMW Group to deliver Minis from the carmaker’s Oxford plant to dealers in the UK.

Acumen will deliver the vehicles to an area stretching from East Anglia on the east coast of England – to North Wales in the west of the UK.

Peter Raybould, director of Acumen Automotive Logistics said, “We won this contract through our competitive pricing and quality service. We are confident that the implementation of our new technologies and innovative solutions will ensure BMW Group UK will receive the highest levels of service.”

The news follows Acumen’s announcement its new Coventry distribution centre last year, the renewal of its contract with Toyota, and a significant investment in a vehicle fleet to support contracts with Jaguar Land Rover, including refurbishing the existing fleet, and purchasing 20 new Scania tractor units and 20 Lohr trailers.

At the end of 2014, Acumen Automotive Logistics bought specialist enclosed car delivery operator, Enable, which has been rebranded as part of Acumen Automotive Logistics, from the Stobart Group.

The Stobart Group had been selling various parts of its automotive business since last year, and has now been bought by British Car Auctions for an undisclosed sum from Eddie Stobart Logistics.
