Konrad_ZwirnerKonrad Zwirner (pictured) has left his job as senior vice-president of international sales and business development at European finished vehicle logistics provider, Hödlmayr International. From the beginning of June he takes up a new role at BCA, the vehicle remarketing services provider, as European strategic development director.

Zwirner joined Hödlmayr back in 1997 to lead the company’s development of its Panamericana division based in Argentina, before moving on to the international sales role. Paul Steininger, who has been with Hödlmayr Group since 2002, has replaced him. Steininger has worked at the company’s branches in Graz, Austria, and Born in the Netherlands, before assuming responsibility for national sales at the group’s Austrian subsidiary, Hödlmayr Logistics in 2009.

At BCA, meanwhile, Zwirner is to develop a three-year business plan for BCA’s European operations, with a focus on growth and the provision of new services in the mid-term.

“We are delighted to welcome Konrad Zwirner to the BCA team,” said Tim Lampert, chief financial officer at BCA Marketplace. “He brings a great deal of experience and market knowledge of the European logistics sector gained with Hödlmayr International.

“Konrad’s appointment is of critical importance to achieving our strategic objectives in Europe and to meet our longer term goals. His experience and drive will be invaluable in both strengthening the core European team and in implementing key initiatives and solutions to meet the needs of our customers,” he added.

BCA is on a growth trajectory. Last year it bought Stobart Automotive and earlier this year followed it with the acquisition of vehicle preparation and storage expert, Ambrosetti.

BCA is owned by a consortium of investors, Haversham Holdings, which is led by Avril Palmer-Baunack.
