US-based truck-leasing firm, Penske Truck Leasing, has launched its Connected Fleet Solutions platform which it says can connect virtually any truck, engine configuration and telematics service provider.

It will also benefit Penske’s logistics division with more than 20,000 vehicles within its truck rental and logistics fleet connected to the platform at launch.

Brian Hard, president and CEO of Penske Truck Leasing, said: “Our unique approach makes it easy for customers to connect their vehicles and share their vehicle data with us.

“We’ve designed these connected fleet solutions to improve vehicle uptime, safety and compliance, and help keep customers well-informed about their vehicles.”

The company said the platform would also enable faster roadside assistance call handling and improved vehicle maintenance through remote diagnostics, location data, and big data analytics.

“The approach also provides a technological path to providing predictive vehicle maintenance,” added the company in a statement.
