Hyundai Kia’s logistics division, Hyundai Glovis, and Russian intermodal container operator TransContainer have begun using a new block train between Vostochny port and Shushary station in St Petersburg.
The train, which carried out its inaugural run at the start of September, is being used to transport auto parts to the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant at St Petersburg.
The train will deliver fifty 40-foot containers (100 TEU) of auto parts dispatched by sea from Busan port, in South Korea. The estimated journey time from Vostochny port to the destination is 10 days.
As part of its service, TransContainer provides the containers from its depot in Busan and organises the sea leg to Vostochny.
“Fast delivery and high-level service are the key factors for choosing a long-term partner for organisation of auto part transportation,” commented TransContainer director for sales and commerce, Dmitry Bulaienko. “Thanks to the skills acquired through years of experience, our company provides each of its customers with a high-level logistics service and custom-tailored approach.”
