Gefco, CorbyGefco’s UK division has invested in two additional paint booths at its 17-hectare vehicle processing centre in Corby, East Midlands to increase its refurbishment capacity for new and used vehicles. The company is also hiring 20 additional technical and mechanical staff.

“The investment in our Corby site has been driven by a significant growth in new business, which has also provided the team with access to a more comprehensive range of onsite services,” said Zsolt Vecsera, managing director, Gefco UK.

The Corby logistics centre offers services including, defleet refurbishment programmes, new vehicle [mpu_ad]preparation and third-party accessory fittings. The company said it had increased onsite defleet capacity from 12,000 to 21,000 units within a year as a result of new business with key vehicle manufacturers.

Corby, which has storage capacity for 9,600 vehicles, is one of two major inland vehicle processing and storage facilities, the other being at Sandtoft near Doncaster. Gefco also has finished vehicle port facilities at Portbury and Sheerness.

The French transport and logistics provider has an annual turnover of €4 billion (around $4.9 billion) and is aiming for 10% growth this year. Its half year results show a revenue growth of 6.2%.
