BMW has extended its service parts warehousing contract with Fullers Logistics in the UK for a further five years. It builds on a contract first signed in 2014.
Fullers is an integrated warehousing and distribution services provider operating in the UK and wider Europe. It is managing BMW’s Dealer Metro Distribution Centre (DMDC) based in Slough, Berkshire, which distributes aftermarket parts. The distribution was previously handled in-house by BMW at its Bracknell head office.
The DMDC now handles the receipt, storage and dispatch of up to 1,500 parts lines a day, including fast moving parts for BMW and Mini dealers and service centres in the south of England and Wales. Those retailers can order parts and receive multiple deliveries on a same day service, with some outlets receiving up to three deliveries a day. In 2015 the operation introduced a Saturday service.
