Crane Worldwide and Intertruck UAEFreight management and contract logistics provider, Crane Worldwide Logistics, has signed spare parts forwarding deal for an undisclosed sum with Intertruck Group, the Netherlands-based supplier of commercial vehicles and equipment.

Under the terms of the deal, which began in February and will be in place for three years, Crane Worldwide will handle over 35,000 line items of heavy-duty spare parts annually at a facility it runs in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“Intertruck’s brand range has now grown to over 10,000 products,” said Marcel van Eeuwen, the company’s CEO. “We are reaching the point that using a third party logistics (3PL) provider will guarantee the best service level for our customers. Crane Worldwide Logistics could meet our requirement and was the obvious choice.”

Crane Worldwide Logistics said it had presented Intertruck with a bespoke solution that identified core cost reduction in the storage of heavy-duty parts, including a shelving system to house individual piece items. Cost reduction is something important to companies operating in UAE according to the company, because of rising facility costs there that were putting significant pressure on manufacturers and their storage capabilities.
