Euro Marine Logistics' World SpiritShort-sea operator Euro Marine Logistics (EML), has launched a new weekly Iberia Express ro-ro service connecting vehicle ports in the UK, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

On the southbound leg, services start from the UK’s port of Tyne, calling at Zeebrugge (Belgium), Santander (Spain) and Barcelona (Spain). Northbound, vessels leaving from Barcelona call at Setúbal (Portugal), Sheerness (UK), Grimsby (UK), and Tyne (UK),

Onwards links from the ports of Zeebrugge and Tyne give coverage into markets in Scandinavia, the Baltic and the Middle East.

The Iberia Express service will be managed in Portugal by Portmar, which is the shipping agency owned by terminal operator, TMB Group.

The service will be supported by three of EML’s ro-ro vessels – World Spirit, Aquarius Ace and Pegasus Ace – each of which has a capacity for 3,000 car units.

EML, which is a joint venture between Höegh Autoliners and Mitsui OSK Lines, would not provide any details of its main customers on the service or the volumes expected to be moved.
