<strong><em><a href="https://automotivelogistics.media/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/GM_supplier_award.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-115721" src="https://d2hkn54fqqmadw.cloudfront.net/web/AL/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/GM_supplier_award.jpg" alt="GM_supplier_award" width="359" height="202" /></a></em></strong>General Motors has once again recognised the services of its logistics providers at its annual Supplier of the Year awards, held in Orlando, Florida, on March 31<sup>st</sup>.

Out of the 118 global tier suppliers from 15 countries that received awards for products and services in 2016, 11 were from the global logistics sector.

The awards are given to companies GM deems to have gone above and beyond its requirements, “providing customers with the most innovative technologies and the industry’s highest-quality vehicles”, according to the carmaker.

The logistics providers recognised were: 4flow, Active Aero Group, Day &amp; Ross Dedicated Logistics, ECM (Vehicle Delivery Service), Grimaldi Group, Hamann International Logistics, Höegh Autoliners, K Line, Maersk Line, Müller – Die Lila Logistik and TV Minority Company.

“We have the privilege to work with and recognise the industry’s most capable suppliers,” said Steve Kiefer, GM vice-president, global purchasing and supply chain. “Through their valued partnership, we will continue to deliver the products, services and experiences our customers deserve.”

Among the logistics providers that have so far responded to the accolade is Grimaldi Group, which provides maritime finished vehicle services to GM. This is the 16<sup>th</sup> time the company has received the award in the last 17 years.

“We are proud to have been chosen once again as the recipient of the 2016 General Motors Supplier of the Year award for the category of Vehicle Outbound – Short Sea Transportation,” said Emanuele Grimaldi, managing director of the Grimaldi Group. “This additional recognition reflects our ongoing efforts to enhance and provide ever more sophisticated logistics services based on maritime transport to the automotive sector.”

This is the 25<sup>th</sup> year that GM has held an awards ceremony for its suppliers.
