Mosolf truck fleetGerman finished vehicle transporter Mosolf is setting up a technical and logistics centre near Paris-Vatry airport as part of a plan to expand in France.

The new base at the ZAC business park, Bussy-Lettrée en Champagne, will officially be opened on December 12.

Mosolf, based in Kirchheim, described the new location as conveniently being on the main north-south railway line linking Antwerp and Barcelona, and the Paris-Stuttgart route.

The Bussy-Lettrée site, which currently measures 10 hectares, will provide storage for up to 4,000 vehicles and as many as 150,000 vehicles will be transhipped by rail and road every year, said Mosolf.

Services such as pre-delivery inspection (PDI), vehicle preparation and smart repairs will also be offered in a new on-site workshop.

Bussy-Lettrée is due to be expanded to 40 hectares with storage capacity for around 15,000 vehicles and the workshop more than trebled in size by 2020 to include paint spraying, a photo booth, body work repairs and other services. “There are plans to extend the space to a total of 80 hectares in the long term,” Mosolf added.

Establishment of the Bussy-Lettrée centre will take Mosolf’s total of business locations in Europe to 38, including a technical and logistics base at Hambach, northeast France.

Recent expansions have come through this year’s acquisition of releasing agent AFG Allgemeine Fahrzeugübernahme and vehicle transporting company Autokontor Bayern.
