Oliver Loch, MD at Kerry Logistics’ division in GermanyOliver Loch (pictured) has taken over as MD at Kerry Logistics’ division in Germany. He replaces Ronnie Kempf, who has left the company.

Loch brings 20 years of experience in the transport and logistics sector to the position and moves from rival logistics provider Rhenus, where he was an international account manager in Europe for the German company’s freight logistics business in air and ocean.

“I am thrilled to join the Kerry Logistics Germany team,” said Loch. “A leading logistics service provider in Asia, Kerry Logistics has continuously expanded its footprint in Europe over past years. In Germany, we aim to contribute to this trend by growing our organisation sustainably and continuing to strengthen long-term customer relations.”

Loch will focus on international freight forwarding and integrated supply chain services for Kerry’s business in Germany. One of the main automotive operations he will oversee is for tyre-maker Continental, which last year extended its contract with Kerry for four years to handle raw material shipments from Asia to western Europe. Continental sources raw materials such as natural and synthetic rubber, carbon black, steel cord and various chemicals from countries including China, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.

Kerry Logistics provides services for Continental sites in 13 countries, managing transport services and acting as customs broker. In addition, it provides warehousing and distribution solutions in China and the United Arab Emirates.

Kempf also oversaw Kerry’s business in Switzerland but Loch will focus on Germany only. The company has yet to announce who will now take on responsibility for business in the neighbouring country.
