Muthu Maruthachalam C brings experience in procurement, supply chain and logistics to his new role at DICV

“I feel honoured as I assume my new role in DICV at a time when we are building the foundation for a new era of commercial mobility,” said Maruthachalam. “My journey with Daimler Truck and DICV has been long, rich with learnings and incredibly fulfilling. I look forward to working closely with our talented teams, guiding them and giving them a conducive environment to thrive and succeed in our organisation.”

Maruthachalam moves from his role as president and chief procurement and supply chain officer at the truckmaker, where he has been spearheading the newly formed Procurement and Supply Chain Management organisation since April 2023. He joined DICV when it was set up in 2009 as a specialist in heavy-duty truck project management, and DICV said he played a pivotal role in the market launch of BharatBenz products in 2012. From there he led quality management to oversee warranty analysis and product reliability for BharatBenz trucks.

In 2015, he relocated to Japan to work at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), where he was responsible for product reliability and warranty for Fuso Trucks and Buses, globally. He returned to DICV, in Chennai, in March 2020 as head of supply chain management and logistics. The company said Maruthachalam’s extensive global experience and profound understanding of process management have driven his success within the Daimler Truck organisation.

“Muthu is a DICV veteran and has been with our organisation since we set up our greenfield in Oragadam,” said Satyakam Arya, DICV’s managing director and CEO. “I am pleased to see him assume his new role within our organisation. His proven experience and leadership within the Daimler Truck organisation in India and overseas, in areas of procurement, supply chain management and quality make him the right choice to drive our operations and logistics business functions, which comprise the largest portion of our workforce. His contributions towards skilfully managing our supply chain and procurement in the most challenging times is his greatest asset.”

In its results for 2023, DICV reported a 39% growth in domestic sales and 21% growth in revenue.
