Additional improvements include near-dock warehouses of 200,000 square feet for fumigation and 150,000 square feet for high & heavy first-point-of-rest. The Port of Brunswick is also adding three buildings on the south side of Colonel’s Island. The structures and 85 additional acres of vehicle storage come online in 2023, growing Brunswick’s annual capacity from 1.2M to 1.4M vehicles. With Brunswick’s hub concept, vehicles don’t have to be drayed off terminal for services, fewer hands touch each car, and storage lots are closer to the docks. More than 20 automakers, supported by four auto processors, choose Colonel’s Island for its proximity to dealerships, ease of doing business with Georgia Ports Authority, and room to grow.
