Gefco Turkey has started operations at a new 10,000 sq.m warehouse in Çayırova in Turkey’s north-western Kocaeli province that will handle storage and onward distribution of two-wheeler vehicles to dealers across Turkey, as well as catering to other manufacturers.
The company said that 5,000 sq.m of the new warehouse is bonded and operating as a specialised customs area for motorcycles under the directorate of Derinçe Customs. The rest of the space is duty paid.
Gefco Turkey is providing the full range of services, including customs and stock management. It said the new warehouse is equipped with latest racking system, loading ramps and uses a barcode controlled operation system with handheld terminals.
In addition, Gefco Turkey Custom Consulting Company, which was launched in 2012, has started operations at the centre for export, import, storage and transit custom operations.
