Ceva Logistics has appointed Pierre Girardin (pictured) as Managing Director for the Ceva Business Unit France, Benelux & Nordics. He will manage the region across all Ceva businesses and takes over from Onno Meij, who has led the unit for more than six years.
Meij has been appointed Group Director, Operations at Ceva Global Head Office in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands. In this role he will be responsible for functional mastery in global operations and for delivering operational excellence programmes (Lean, Zero-Defect Start up, Standard Metrics and Smart Solutions) across all Ceva businesses worldwide.
Girardin was most recently at Ceva Global Head Office, where he held the position of Group Director, Strategy & Contract Logistics Business Development.
 
NYK Logistics (UK) has appointed Ian Smith as Operations and Business Improvement Director. He will be responsible for the management of all of NYK Logistics’ UK operations, including the automotive sector. He will also have overall responsibility for managing customer KPIs and quality and continuous improvement across the business. Smith joins NYK from Unipart Logistics where he was Managing Director of the Consumer Logistics business.
 
Meanwhile, Anthony Chiarello has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of NYK Logistics (Americas). Chiarello also serves on the boards of NYK Logistics (Americas) and its parent, NYK Group (Americas). He reports to Kazuo Ishizuka, President and Chief Executive of NYK Logistics (Americas).
 
Hauke Harnisch has moved from his position as Director of Indirect Procurement, Transportation, Logistics, Customs & Non Production at Lear Corporation to take up the position of Managing Director at dualproLOG, an international consulting company with its main focus on automotive logistics.
It’s targets include development, support and implementation of transportation and supply chain concepts, the procurement of transportation and logistics services, non-production (indirect) materials and supplies, as well as strategic consulting for business development including merger and acquisitions.

“It is my intention to support with simple, but creative solutions the optimisation of cost in a challenging business environment. My hopes are that companies are ready to change and provide the willingness to take new ways to approach and manage their day-to-day business,” Harnish told Automotive Logistics.

Online aftermarket parts provider, US Auto Parts Network, has appointed Theodore Sanders, Jr as Chief Financial Officer. Sanders brings more than 25 years of financial and operational management experience in both public and privately held companies.
