Dave Dudek (pictured) has moved from his position as Director of International Logistics at GM to take up a new position at Ceva Logistics as Auto Sector Lead for the Asia Pacific region. He will be based in Shanghai and target Ceva's automotive market strategy in the region. "Our goal is to become the number one logistics company in Asia," said Dudek. Prior to his role with GM in Warren, Michigan, Mr Dudek was Managing Director for Asia Pacific for Vector SCM.
Suburu of America has promoted Thomas Doll to the reinstated position of Chief Operating Officer where he will focus on business operations strategy. Doll has been Executive Vice President and CFO for 15 years and will retain those job responsibilities but will hand the logistics planning portion of his role to Tim Colbeck, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales.
Jeffrey Rubin has been named Vice President of Finance and Corporate Relations at TransLogic Auto Carriers. Rubin is responsible for managing the financial performance of the company and its customer business operations.
“After a great success as the acting VP of finance, we look forward to Jeff taking on this position,” said TransLogic Executive Chairman Ricky Coley. “Jeff has made significant improvements in providing the accounting department with training and improved processes, while aligning finance to provide the proper controls and tools to support operations."
Rubin has been with TransLogic Auto Carriers since 2006, most recently as the Director of Operations, where he strategically coordinated all freight movement, while improving dispatch and logistics functions, driver retention, equipment maintenance, and safety ratings programmes.
Professor Ralf Elbert has been appointed Chair of Logistics Services and Transport and head of the affiliated DB Schenker Laboratories at the Faculty of Economics and Management at Technische Universität (TU) Berlin. The new chair will focus on the management of logistics services as well as the design, control and development of transport networks.
Professor Elbert held the Hessenmetall endowed junior professorship at the TU Darmstadt since 2007. His primary areas of research are cluster and value chain management in logistics.
NYK Logistics (Americas) has appointed Timothy Nolan to the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of the NVOCC & CHB Division.
NYK is focusing on its non-vessel operating common carrier and customs house brokerage services as an opportunity for future development.
Nolan will oversee the company’s Double Wing Express and CHB. "The NVOCC and CHB division represents one of our biggest opportunities for the future and we are pleased to welcome someone with such a diversified background to direct and promote the future growth of this area," said Anthony Chiarello, Chief Operating Officer of NYK Logistics (Americas).
