Freight forwarder Logwin has secured a major two-year contract with automotive import agent Shanghai China-Industrial Import and Export Trading Co. Ltd (SCI).
Logwin will now be responsible for managing all aspects of inbound shipments for SCI, including the movement of automotive components primarily from Germany to local destinations in Dalian and Shanghai. Logwin is already present in both cities as well as 17 further locations across the country.
SCI specialises in supporting European car and parts manufacturers with import procedures into China. It services range from licence applications and customs clearance, to local distribution and delivery. Logwin will support these activities by ensuring the safe and efficient transport of components to its customer sites across the country, said James Kilpatrick, Managing Director Far East in the Logwin business segment Air + Ocean. He added that the agreement will also reinforce Logwin's position as one of the leading players in the automotive market both in Europe and Asia.
