Live polling conducted at the Finished Vehicle Logistics Import Export summit in Baltimore showed many are optimistic about how the Nafta negotiations will affect their business, while the investment outlook for port-related infrastructure was very positive for the next three-year period.
Delegates at the 2017 Finished Vehicle Logistics Import Export summit in Baltimore voted live on questions composed by sponsors of the event, as well by the Automotive Logistics team.
The voting results also backed up comments from the OEM speakers that vehicle imports using short-sea movements from Mexico to the US were gaining ground on rail imports, and that yard space for parking and vehicle handling are seen as the areas with the biggest infrastructure gap at North American ports.
Meanwhile, voting also revealed that exactly half the delegates canvassed saw the digital vehicle as the thing with the most potential to improvement ro-ro handling through the ports.
