Former entrepreneur Ludo Gielen is to become the new CEO of Schoeller Allibert on 1 November, 14 years after selling them his company.
Gielen joined the Dutch returnable transit packaging company when it bought BiPP Plastic Pallets from him in 2004. “Over the years [Gielen] has had several executive roles in product development, innovation strategy and strategic growth, critical to the success of Schoeller Allibert,” said co-chairmen Martin and Christoph Schoeller.
“Ludo has displayed significant drive and energy in leading innovative product development and commercial strategies. The combination of his [mpu_ad]experience, customer focus, market knowledge and leadership qualities make him the best candidate to lead the group,” they added.
Schoeller Allibert has been inventing, developing, designing and manufacturing returnable transit packaging for more than 60 years and serves seven key sectors, including automotive.
The company, based in Hoofddorp, offers hand-held, rigid stacking, and folding large containers, plus pallets and dollies to OEMs and tier one and tier two auto part manufacturers. The aim, says Schoeller Allibert, is to help to optimise its supply chains, eliminate wastage and reduce fuel and transport costs.
