John Begg has moved to tier supplier Johnson Controls as director of global supply chain and transportation for its Power Solutions division, which makes and distributes vehicle batteries.
Begg will have responsibility for driving logistics and warehousing initiatives across all regions but with a special focus on the US.
He moves from Magna Powertrain, where he oversaw the reorganisation of the company’s supply chain as director of global logistics and trade compliance over a seven-year tenure. He has previously held senior positions at Exterran, CRH North America and Key Safety Systems, among others.
Begg will making another move as part of the Power Solutions business later this year. In July, Johnson Controls expects to complete the sale of the division to private equity firm Brookfield Business Partners for $13.2 billion. The company said the move was designed to streamline its portfolio of products and services, and make it exclusively a building technologies and HVAC supplier. The Power Solutions business will take on a new name on completion of the deal.
