Olaf Henning is moving to take on the role of general manager and head of global automotive aftermarket at SKF Group in mid-November. He replaces Philipp Herlein, who has been named managing director of the Global SKF Lubrication and MPT division.
Henning previously worked at Mahle Group as executive vice-president for aftermarket and also as group president for corporate logistics, before taking up a management position at digitalisation and automation provider SoftProject, focused on organisational development. Henning also brings European automotive aftermarket experience from Bosch and Michelin.
At SKF Group, which supplies bearings, seals and lubrication systems, he will oversee the automotive aftermarket business, which involves the distribution of premium spare parts through a network of more than 10,000 distributors.
In September this year SKF began the spinoff of its Automotive business which it said would enable a clearer focus on opportunities to enhance customer value, accelerate growth and efficiency and competitiveness. The company aims to list the separate Automotive business in the first half of 2026.
In September SKF also announced the forthcoming appointment of Susanne Larsson as senior vice-president and chief financial officer (CFO), replacing current CFO Niclas Rosenlew. Larsson is expected to join SKF in March 2025.
