Yusen Logistics division in the Benelux region of Europe has bought out Parts Express, a Dutch provider of aftermarket service parts logistics. Yusen said the buyout would strengthen its logistics services for the automotive industry, a priority sector alongside healthcare and retail.
Yusen identified that Parts Express has the biggest provider of service parts logistics across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Parts Express specialises in delivering fragile aftermarket parts such as windows and mufflers. The company provides next-day delivery services operating a fleet of 450 vehicles and 30,000 sq.m of cross-dock space divided into five locations in the Netherlands and four in Belgium. Parts Express has OEM and tier supplier customers from Europe, Japan, South Korea and the US amongst others.
Bruno Jacques, managing director of Yusen Logistics Benelux and Germany, said the acquisition of Parts Express represented a strategic milestone the company and a new phase for expansion and innovation. “By integrating Parts Express into our network, we’re not just expanding our reach, we’re accelerating our growth trajectory and amplifying our capabilities to better serve our customers.”
“Joining forces with Yusen Logistics opens up a world of possibilities for our team and customers,” said Norbert Van Duuren, general manager of Parts Express. “Together, we’re empowered to deliver value and service excellence to our customers, not only in the Benelux region but also beyond. This marks the beginning of an exhilarating journey, and we’re thrilled to be at the forefront of it.”
This latest acquisition follows a number of others Yusan has made in line with the focus on core logistics its parent company NYK Group declared in March last year. Yusen’s 3PL subsidiary International Logistics Group, which specialises in order fulfilment and delivery, bought UK carrier management company Global Freight Solutions in February this year. In February last year, Yusen Logistics Americas acquired US logistics provider Taylored Services Parent.
