Ceva Logistics has appointed Steve Dean (pictured) as its senior vice-president of business development for contract logistics in North America.
Dean, who brings more than 30 years of logistics experience to the role including 25 in the contract logistics field at firms including Menlo Worldwide, Ryder Systems and Con-way, will be based in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was most recently senior vice-president of sales at XPO Logistics, following its takeover of Con-way, where he was responsible for a 40-plus sales team supporting the carrier’s service centres in North America. He also oversaw sales operations planning, customer development strategies, sales training and the application of lean methodologies and practices throughout the sales process.
“Ceva is a major player on the international stage with a great reputation and I believe there is significant potential to further enhance our portfolio of services,” said Dean. “My relocation to Jacksonville puts me at the heart of our sales and solutions teams in North America and I’m looking forward to developing our customer offering to further grow the business.”
Dean will report to Casey Fisher, executive vice-president of business development in North America.
“Steve is a great addition to our contract logistics team in North America,” said Fisher. “His proactive approach to maximising sales opportunities and developing tailored solutions will be a tremendous benefit to the sales function and our customers.”
