French-based logistics and transport provider Norbert Dentressangle has signed a five-year dedicated distribution agreement with Toyota Material Handling UK, supplier of pallet and counterbalance forklifts, warehouse equipment and supporting services.
The deal will give TMHUK full UK coverage using three of its own sites at Warrington, Castleford, and Old Dalby, as well as three Norbert Dentressangle sites: Medway, Gloucester and Motherwell. TMHUK will also have use of a dedicated fleet of 23 Norbert Dentressangle tractors and trailers; the company will support TMHUK's entire supply chain.
Customers for TMHUK's material handling equipment in the UK automotive sector include its sister company, Toyota GB in Burnaston, and a range of automotive suppliers including DSV and Reiter Automotive.
According to TMHUK, one of the advantages attracting the company to the deal was the use of real-time tracking of deliveries using the miSHARP transport management software.
