Toyota has reached maximum capacity at its Malmö vehicle logistics centre in Sweden following a regional sales slump and has been forced to charter a PCTC vessel for temporary storage from Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.

The Morning Glory will be used to store a maximum of 2,500 vehicles of various models for six months now that Toyota’s vehicle logistics centre at Malmö has hit its 12,000-unit limit.

“We hope to keep this emergency measure as short as possible. We are continuously adapting our production levels to the evolution of market demand, so the stock issue in Malmö should improve gradually in the next months,” TMMUK spokesman Steve Carter told Automotive Logistics.
