US finished vehicle haulier United Road Services has appointed Mark Anderson (pictured) as its president. He will take up the role alongside his existing position as chief operating officer, a role he has been in at the company since 2014.
The presidency passes from Kathleen McCann, who remains CEO of the company and is now also appointed chairman of the board, replacing Michael Eisenson, managing director and CEO of Charlesbank Capital Partners, the company’s majority shareholder. McCann joined United Road as president in 2011, assuming the additional CEO role in 2012.
"I have great confidence in Mark's ability to work with our exceptional team in growing our business,” said McCann. “I trust him and know that his energy and dedication to our people, our customers and our company will serve us all well.”
Anderson has over 25 years of professional experience leading businesses with significant logistics components, including car haul, fuel distribution and OEM plant services, among others. Prior to his time at United Road Services, he was CEO of Inland Industrial Services Group.
Speaking about McCann’s appointment as chairman of the board, Eisenson said: "The board is delighted to appoint Kathleen as chairman. Under her leadership, United Road has made great progress in achieving the strategic objectives we set at the time of our investment in 2012, nearly doubling the size of the business through a combination of organic growth and accretive acquisitions.
“I am confident that Kathleen, Mark and their team will continue to build on this progress, displaying the drive, talent and focused execution that have solidified the company's position as a market leader,” he added. “I look forward to offering my continued support as a member of the board."
