Anshum Jain has moved from his role as general manager of operations at Demag Cranes and Components to take up a new role at Wirtgen India, the road building machine maker, as chief operating officer. He will be responsible for increasing production, setting up additional plants and launching new products on the Indian market.
"Worthen is world's leading road construction equipment manufacturing company," Jain told Automotive Logistics. "With new growth focused on by the government in India, I believe this business is going to grow exponentially."
Jain has 18 years of international experience in equipment manufacturing, including purchasing and logistics. At Demag, based in Pune, he had direct responsibility for all operational functions at the crane making plant, including purchasing, production planning, manufacture, quality and logistics.
Prior to that role Jain was head of project management and business systems at MTU Detroit Diesel, the diesel and gas engines, and power systems provider.
