In a recent discussion on the Automotive Logistics Red Sofa at ALSC Global 2024, Iván Dávila, who leads inbound logistics for Nissan North America, explored the transformative potential of logistics automation within the automotive industry.
Dávila highlighted the importance of digitalisation in optimising key performance indicators (KPIs) across Nissan’s North American plants. By collaborating with universities and service providers, Nissan is implementing innovative technologies to enhance performance and streamline operations.
Despite the progress, Dávila acknowledged challenges in scaling automation, particularly the need for seamless communication between different systems and business units. He emphasised that robust infrastructure and team engagement are crucial for successful implementation, ensuring that end users feel empowered and motivated by new technologies.
