Siegfried Jung has recently took responsibility for logistics at BMW Mexico as vice-president of production control, production systems and logistics, and he’s been tremendously surprised by how young, ambitious and flexible his team and associates are at BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosi. He tells editor-in-chief Christopher Ludwig that flexibility is and remains the top priority for BMW’s logistics in Mexico as the young plant ramps up production and continues to manage through supply chain and logistics disruption. But with a strong digital underpinning, including a unique digital control centre, the plant is well placed to manage ongoing uncertainty together with BMW’s logistics and supplier partners.
