Sabine Hucke has been appointed managing director of Germany’s logistics interest group BVL (Bundesvereiningung Logistik). She takes over from Jörn Fontius who is leaving the BVL after eight years to pursue other career opportunities.
Hucke was previously head of Central Logistics at car interiors supplier F.S. Fehrer Automotive and brings wide-ranging management and logistics expertise to what the BVL describes as her new content-focused and organisational duties.
"I am convinced that Sabine Hucke will perfectly complement the management team under Thomas Wimmer," said Prof. Raimund Klinkner, chairman of the BVL Board. "Her background in industry and her ties to BVL due to her honorary activities as chair of the Main-Franconia Chapter make her ideal for this position. We all wish her every success and would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Jörn Fontius for his work and efforts on behalf of BVL."
Hucke will be overseeing content, knowledge, research and event management. Her first task is the project management for the 30th International Supply Chain Conference in October in Berlin.
