Container pooling provider Chep Automotive and Industrial Solutions has named Richard Campbell (pictured) as director of European key accounts. Campbell, who is also a member of the Automotive Executive Team, replaces Stephen Smith, who left the company last year, and moves from his role as global sales manager at automotive tier one supplier, TRW Automotive.
According to Chep, Campbell will strengthen the company’s position by working closely with OEMs and their suppliers to develop smarter packaging, platform and logistics solutions.
Campbell brings 20 years’ experience in various roles across a range of companies. As well as TRW Automotive, he has worked at Maritz, Borbet Group and Anixter International. At Chep he will report to David Mayo, vice-president Europe.
“At Chep we work in close partnership with our customers to understand the challenges associated with delivering components on time, to the right quality and at the best cost,” said Mayo. “It is our in-depth understanding of these complex and cost-sensitive supply chains that enables us to offer our customers a suite of best-practice solutions aligned with their business needs.
"Richard’s blend of long-term experience in the automotive industry perfectly qualifies him to rise to such a challenge.”
