Denis Chesnokov has moved from his position as sales and marketing director at Russian Transport Lines (RTL) to take up a new role in Business Development at Japanese freight forwarder and logistics provider, Kintetsu World Express (KWE).
Chesnokov had been at RTL, which provides extensive services for container and finished vehicle handling, for almost two years, having moved there from Russian finished vehicle logistics provider, Rolf SCS.
He said the move was in part motivated by a desire for a different management environment.
“My intention was quite simple: to get back to non-Russian management companies, which have far more clearer planning and commitments to customers,” he told Automotive Logistics.
Chesnokov had previously worked at DHL Global Forwarding as head of the Automotive division, as well as holding positions at Robert Bosch and Nissan.
He went on to say that he had also been looking for opportunities outside the finished vehicles logistics sector for some time.
“KWE has a good balance of challenges and possibilities with a wide logistics products range [including] airfreight, ocean freight, trucking and, especially, warehousing,” he noted.
Chesnokov’s remit at KWE is “to widen customer portfolios, and launch new services and solutions.”
RTL said that its CEO Sergey Stavtsev would be handling Chesnokov’s responsibilities for the moment.
