DHL Supply Chain has been awarded a three-year contract to manage parts distribution and warehousing in the UK for Toyota.
The contract will see DHL provide a range of aftermarket services, including distribution of approximately 200,000 lines each year to over 200 authorised repairers and retailers.
Deliveries will take place through the night using DHL’s aftermarket collaborative platform. The overnight service involves DHL carrying parts from several different OEMs to strategically located cross-docking facilities across the UK. Parts will be delivered by 8.00am.
DHL will also carry out same-day deliveries to all UK dealers, covering both the Toyota and Lexus brands.
The company has previously announced similar contracts with other OEMs, including BMW, Scania and Volvo Cars.
“Our new partnership with Toyota builds on our proven expertise in the UK automotive sector and supports the continued global growth of our customers,” said Martin Dougherty, VP of business development for the automotive sector at DHL Supply Chain.
