The freight division of Emirates airline, Emirates SkyCargo, has launched a service dedicated to classic, luxury and sports car moves called Emirates SkyWheels.
The service covers door-to-door transport of vehicles, including collection and delivery overseas, as well as export and customs clearance at both ends of the route. As well as the Advanced option the service also offers a Premium option, which provides additional road and transport insurance.
Emirates SkyWheels will benefit from SkyCargo’s global network of 150 destinations on six continents. Staff are specially qualified on loading and unloading vehicles from aircraft. The company said that in addition to its modern cargo terminal in Dubai, which features a dedicated storage space for vehicles, Emirates SkyCargo had a fleet of more than 245 widebody aircraft, including 15 freighters, 13 Boeing 777Fs and two B747-400ERFs.
Emirates SkyCargo recently transported an exclusive Pagani Zonda F supercar from Dubai back to the Pagani factory near Bologna, Italy, for a service. It also moved a collection of rare classic Ferrari cars to Dubai this month for the Gulf Concours event, which brings together rare classic cars, modern bespoke luxury vehicles and supercars, and is taking place on November 18th and 19th. The shipment included a classic 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO estimated to be worth over $40m.
