Finished vehicle services provider Acertus has bought Guardian Auto Transport, its sixth acquisition since 2017. Guardian Auto Transport provides a platform for vehicle shipments to dealers and end customers, including for classic cars.
Acertus said the acquisition was part of its growth plan to become the leading logistics platform supporting the movement, storage, reconditioning, titling and registration of finished vehicles.
“The acquisition allows us to expand our capabilities while fostering Guardian Auto Transport’s deep and lasting relationships with fleet management companies (FMCs),” said Trent Broberg, CEO of Acertus. “We are excited to welcome Mike Bulshteyn, Eric Field and the entire Guardian Auto Transport team to our platform. Together, we are poised to operate as one trusted partner, delivering superior service and value to our clients.”
Originally MetroGistics, the company rebranded as Acertus in 2018 having already bought Metro Title, Amerifleet and McNutt. Since then, it has also acquired VehicHaul TMS and RCG Logistics. In November last year it launched a new transport management system (TMS) that provides shippers with real-time GPS tracking, digital inspection data, automated reporting and custom data visualisation. The platform is powered by machine learning and is connected with its transport network enabling location transparency on vehicles moving through the outbound supply chain.
Mike Bulshteyn, co-founder and CEO of Guardian Auto Transport, said that joining Acertus enabled the company to expand its service offering. “The platform brings increased operational support, advanced technology and a robust infrastructure to enhance the delivery of a world-class customer experience. While our dedicated professionals continue to provide exceptional attention, our customers and vendors.”
