BMW has signed another five-year contract with BCA for used vehicle logistics services in the UK. The contract includes BMW’s specialist leasing and fleet management business Alphabet. The companies signed their first contract in 2018.
BCA will continue to be the exclusive provider of defleet, remarketing, inspection and collection services for BMW and Alphabet. Defleet services also include maintenance and repair to ensure the vehicles are in best condition for resale. The logistics provider said the contract with BMW was one of the largest remarketing contracts it had signed in its history.
Globally, Alphabet is currently financing a fleet of over 700,000 cars. BMW took over the business in 2011.
BCA also continues to provide logistics coordination and vehicle distribution centre support services, including company car handovers and inspections.
“We are delighted to have renewed this substantial and significant volume of business from one of our longest standing partners,” said Matt Bristow, BCA’s commercial director in the UK. “This important contract renewal to provide the used vehicle supply chain for BMW and Alphabet underlines the trust in BCA to represent the BMW brand values across a range of key, highly significant, touchpoints to internal and external customers and stakeholders.”
BCA has recently confirmed a number of new and renewed remarketing deals in the UK representing a further 75,000 vehicles from the franchised and non-franchised dealer sectors. They include a two-year deal with multi-franchise dealer JCB Group, representing over 2,500 vehicles annually and Sinclair Group, the largest motor group in Wales, which has renewed its long-standing partnership with BCA with a further two-year agreement to remarket 4,000 vehicles. Renault Retail has also agreed a two-year exclusive remarketing partnership with BCA representing 7,000 units.
