Anthony Clevio, who left GM last year after 16 years at the carmaker, has joined United Road Services as its senior vice-president of sales and marketing.
Clevio held multiple global leadership roles at GM and was most recently the director of global finished vehicle logistics at GM, having been appointed to the role in 2022. After he left the carmaker last year, Cristina Bueno Learman replaced him in the role in August.
United Road has seen a shift in its leadership over the past year, following the changing of hands of the role of chair from Kathleen McCann to CEO Mark Anderson last May. The firm has also been developing over recent years and growing its fleet of trucks through acquisitions, including that of Colorado-based Fleet Car Carriers in 2019.
Anderson recently spoke to Automotive Logistics about the increasing trend of consolidation in North American FVL and said that United Road is “always listening for [consolidation] opportunities that make sense”, but added that the firm already has a lot of geographic reach. “We’re in all corners of the US and Canada, and that’s the market that we like right now, so we’re happy about that. We like the services we provide, so for us, that opportunity for growth lies in providing them better and faster.”
Before leaving GM, Anthony Clevio spoke at the 2023 Finished Vehicle Logistics North America conference, where he pointed to the need for OEMs to work in new ways with key logistics providers to overcome logistics capacity challenges and to adapt to changes in the vehicle logistics network across the region.
