Jochen Freese has taken up a newly created position as chief commercial officer (CCO) at logistics provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. Freese will manage the business development and sales for the company, taking over some of the current duties of Hellmann’s managing partner Jost Hellman.
“We are delighted to welcome Jochen into our global team and are excited to have created a new role for him,” said Jost Hellmann. “This is another big milestone to lead our family into the next generation and we are sure Jochen is the right person to do so.”
Freese moves over from his role as president of the Europe, Middle East and North Africa region at UTi Worldwide, one of a number of roles he held with the logistics provider. As a member of UTi’s executive board Freese gained experience in the field of global verticals and marketing. He will now also take a position on Hellmann Worldwide Logistics’ international executive board, and his focus here will be on the strategic business development and growth of air and ocean freight services, as well as the development of sales and services.
“It is a real pleasure to be joining the Hellmann team as the newly created CCO and, although it will be a challenge, it is one I will relish,” said Freese. “I feel I have a lot to offer from experience within senior levers in global logistics and believe I can help the company to grow internationally.”
At UTi, Freese will be replaced by Gavin Rimmer, who was previously focused on activity in Africa.
This latest appointment at Hellman Worldwide Logistics follows the company’s appointment of Henrik Lund as director for the global airfreight sector last November.
