Lluís Gay is moving from his role as head of Land Transport at DB Schenker Logistics in Spain to take up a new position at the beginning of September as CEO of Schenker Logistics SAU
Schenker Logistics SAU is the legal name for DB Schenker Logistics subsidiary in Spain distinct from its rail business there.
Gay takes over from Jaume Ballester, who is retiring from the company but will retain responsibility as head of land transport of Europe West at DB Schenker Logistics until further notice. Ballester has worked for the DB Schenker Group for decades and in 1975 helped to found Spain-Tir Transportes Internacionales, SA, which is now part of the global DB Schenker network.
Gay, meanwhile, has 28 years of experience in freight forwarding and has been working in Land Transport for 24 years across a wide variety of departments from sales to operations, and at various levels from administration to management.
“I am delighted to be able to work closely with Lluis Gay,” said Philippe Gilbert, regional director for Europe West at Schenker. “I know he will keep DB Schenker Logistics in Spain moving forward with the strong entrepreneurial spirit his professional background has given him. And I am glad that we will continue to have Jaume Ballester’s extensive experience and positive energy supporting our Land Transport activities in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Morocco.”
