General Motor’s Peter Layer, head of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Russia/CIS, is moving to a new role for the carmaker in North America as director, Purchasing, Chassis Systems. He will be based in Warren, Michigan.
Layer is being replaced by Rowina Fornica who is moving to take up the role of director, Purchasing and Supply Chain, GM Russia/CIS.
Layer started his career with GM in 1995 in Vehicle Safety Engineering. He later moved into Purchasing as a buyer and relocated to Shanghai in 2005 as director of Electrical and Thermal Purchasing. He was also program purchasing director for GM’s Small Car Vehicle Platform based in Seoul, South Korea.
