Horizon International Cargo, an independent freight forwarder and logistics provider, has announced the appointment of Tony Leach (left) as manager of supply chain development.
Leach will work alongside clients in Horizon’s automotive and component manufacturing sectors. He joined Horizon in December 2012 and has since been delivering new logistics products for both new and existing customers.
“We are committed to making a major contribution to the overall success of our automotive clients, ensuring their supply chains are more efficient and competitive while driving better customer service across their organisations,” Leach said. “The consultative approach with clients at board and senior management level is the key to building successful supply chain management.”
Leach worked for a variety of industry IT sectors before entering the world of logistics in 2003 when he joined UPS Supply Chain Solutions. He moved to SBS Worldwide in 2008. He has worked in North and South America, Asia Pacific, and across Europe. This has provided a wide understanding of issues across the supply chain on a global scale.
Horizon was founded in 1991, and SAL in 1995. The two companies combined employ around 400 staff, with a turnover of $200m. The LSP, along with its sister company Sea Air Logistics, operates 25 offices across eight countries. It also manages a series of partnerships with logistics providers on a global scale.
