[Updated June 16th] Jaguar Land Rover has contracted logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel to manage three service parts warehouses in France, Spain and Italy serving the European region.
Kuehne + Nagel will also be providing transport management from a control tower in the UK and managing customer contact centres for Jaguar Land Rover retailers in Europe. The carmaker has a network of 400 retailers across continental Europe.
“This new business is of very high importance to Kuehne + Nagel, both from a regional and global perspective, as it enables us to partner with Jaguar Land Rover and to enlarge our footprint in one of our core focus services, spare parts logistics,” said Dominic Edmonds, senior vice-president contract logistics Western Europe for Kuehne + Nagel.
The three warehouses will be located in Metz, (France), Madrid (Spain) and Bologna (Italy).
Jaguar Land Rover is reputed to be reorganising its aftermarket operations with a focus on regional operations while at the same time making the most of the synergies possible from moving both Jaguar and Land Rover parts through the same facilities and distribution channels. Kuehne + Angel confirmed it would be managing the aftermarket logistics for both brands.
Jaguar Land Rover’s other aftermarket logistics provider in Europe, Neovia Logistics, operates 12 facilities internationally for the carmaker and signed an extension to its contract with the OEM in 2015.
