Joanne Perry (pictured) has taken over from Christopher Ludwig as the editor of the Automotive Logistics group, becoming responsible for the print and digital content of Automotive Logistics and Finished Vehicle Logistics.
The move follows Ludwig’s appointment as content director at parent company, Ultima Media, which organises the Automotive Logistics group's global conferences and is also responsible for a range of other specialist brands dedicated to the automotive industry including Automotive Manufacturing Solutions, Car Design News and automotiveIT International.
Perry, who took over on January 1st and is based at the group’s offices in London, is now responsible for the creation, commissioning and delivery of editorial across the logistics group.
She was previously deputy editor at Automotive Manufacturing Solutions, where she spent more than four years travelling to assembly plants around the world and reporting on developments in materials, technology, robotics, sustainability and other key aspects of vehicle production.
“I am delighted to take up this new role,” said Perry. “Together with the rest of the Automotive Logistics team, I will be working hard to deliver in-depth coverage of all the most important developments in global automotive logistics – in our magazines, on our website, in our newsletter and on social media, too."
“Joanne’s creativity and focus as a writer and editor, as well as her experience and knowledge of automotive manufacturing and its changing dynamics, make her a perfect fit to take over as editor of the Automotive Logistics group,” commented Ludwig, who edited Automotive Logistics and Finished Vehicle Logistics for more than eight years. “I am excited to work closely with the logistics team as they continue to deliver uniquely in-depth coverage of this sector, while we also explore new opportunities across other major parts of the value chain that we cover in manufacturing, design and IT.”
Perry will be supported in her new position by the experienced Automotive Logistics editorial team, which includes Marcus Williams – recently appointed as features editor – and managing editor, Robin Meczes.
The Automotive Logistics group is also currently recruiting for an assistant editor to join the team.
