Logistics services provider Kuehne + Nagel (KN) has opened its eighth regional integrated logistics control centre (LCC) in Shanghai to serve the automotive, consumer, high-tech, industrial and healthcare industries.
The new hub will provide a wide range of managed services for the fulfilment of customers’ orders across international supply chains.
Tobias Jerschke, global head of integrated logistics at the company, said: “The Kuehne + Nagel Logistics Control Centre in Shanghai is the eighth of its kind in the world [and] a clear answer to the growing demand of our Asian customers to manage global supply chain flows.”
The other LCCs are in North America, Europe, South America and Asia, according to the company’s website.
Dedicated teams at KN’s LCCs handle contract and transport management including logistics partner management in a shared environment.
Siewloong Wong, president of Kuehne + Nagel North Asia Pacific, said: “With the enhanced set-up and know-how bundled in expert teams, we will be able to even better serve our customers by developing, implementing and operating scalable solutions for greater flexibility and speed, thus improving supply chain performance.”
In July, KN revealed it was expanding its LCC in Wroclaw, Poland, to improve its services for customers in the automotive, industrial and consumer sectors.
