LDC Logistics has acquired the remaining shares in third-party logistics provider Metro Supply Chain Group (Metro SCG) from private equity investor, Novacap.
Over the past 12 years since Novacap’s initial investment, Metro SCG has expanded from its Canadian warehousing roots to provide customised solutions in warehousing, e-commerce fulfilment, transport management and post-production packaging in Canada, the US, the UK and Germany.
In the automotive sector, Metro operates aftermarket spare parts warehouses, as well as offering services for all-terrain vehicles and motorcycle preparation, warehousing and distribution.
LDC Logistics has investments in various logistics companies as well as business related to the industry: the company’s development corporation owns, manages and develops property.
Chiko Nanji, chairman of LDC Logistics and CEO and founder of Metro SCG, said: “I am excited to have the opportunity to take complete ownership of Metro SCG and continue to support the company’s current aggressive growth strategy.”
“The transaction reflects our confidence in our plans to increase Metro SCG’s market position in North America and Europe.”
In April last year, Metro SCG made an acquisition of its own, acquiring Evolution Time Critical, a UK-based emergency logistics company, for an undisclosed sum.
