French tyre manufacturer Michelin has renewed an agreement with Ceva Logistics for a range of services at Michelin’s warehouse in Valladolid, north-western Spain. The new, three-year contract builds on an existing seven-year long agreement and strategic partnership between the companies, Ceva said.
The Swiss-based logistics provider will continue to carry out warehousing services, inventory management, and picking and loading of deliveries to Michelin’s OEM customers, along with the service centres and dealers. Ceva will also handle a range of tyres for luxury touring vehicles, agricultural vehicles and trucks.
The logistics provider will use about 55,000 sq.m inside Michelin’s Valladolid warehouse and deal with around 5m items per year.
“We are very proud of our long-standing relationship with Michelin and delighted that they have entrusted us with their business for an additional three years,” said Bruno Guarçone, contract logistics operations director Iberia for Ceva Logistics. “Our two teams share the same goal of a relentless quest for quality and customer satisfaction in everything that we do.”
Michelin needs a logistics operator which knows how to respond to customers’ requirements and is capable of adapting to continuously evolving markets, said Jesús Alonso, Valladolid warehouse director for Michelin.
