NewsVW boosts green credentials of lithium battery supply to Zwickau
Volkswagen is using a combination of rail and automated unloading to move batteries to its plant in Zwickau, Germany, its first plant dedicated to electric vehicle production, which is currently making the ID.3 and ID.4. The move further reduces the carbon footprint of the plant and is another step closer to its zero-emission sustainability strategy – goTOzero.

NewsAsean region now benefiting from Acts online customs trade tool
This week sees the launch of a new online customs transit management system in the 10-member Association of Southeast Nations (Asean), designed to accelerate trade in goods by road. The Asean Customs Transit System (Acts) enables private companies to make a single customers transit declaration that covers the transport of goods across multiple Asean countries without the need to make repeated customs declarations or change vehicles at each border. The online e-transit declaration can be made directly with Asean customs authorities. Companies can track the movement of their goods from loading at departure to delivery at the final destination.

Audi has started using trucks powered by liquified natural gas (LNG) to deliver parts to its Neckarsulm factory in Germany. The carmaker said the two trucks would replace conventional diesel vehicles and save up to 20% of CO2 and around 85% of nitrogen oxides.
