Organisational changes at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics mean Peter Hüwel has become the new regional CEO for North America, replacing Steen Christensen, while Martin Eberle will take over as chief financial officer (CFO) this coming spring, replacing Michael Noth.
Hüwel has 27 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry with Panalpina. Most recently he was vice-president for North American-Latin American tradelane development at DSV’s Air & Sea division, following DSV’s merger with Panalpina in 2019.
“We are very pleased to have gained Peter Hüwel, a proven expert of the North American logistics market, for our company,” said Hellmann’s CEO, Reiner Heiken. “Hellmann has been established in North America for over 30 years and the region has great strategic importance and enormous potential for us, also with a view to the future.”
Martin Eberle, meanwhile, brings 20 years of financial experience in the logistics industry to the new role. He was most recently global head of accounting and control at Kuehne + Nagel and held other roles at the logistics provider, including senior vice-president of finance in North Asia Pacific. He also worked at Toll Global Forwarding as regional finance director, EMEA.
“With his profound understanding of the industry and his many years of experience in finance and controlling, Mr Eberle will play a key role in further expanding Hellmann’s global presence and market share,” said Thomas Lieb, chairman of Hellmann’s supervisory board. “We would like to thank Dr Noth for his successful work on the executive board of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and wish him all the best for the future.”
