In April this year Stellantis announced it is making India its hub for exporting electric vehicles (EVs), particularly for the south-east Asia region. It started with the export of 500 units of its E-C3 to Indonesia, with plans to expand to other markets such as Nepal and Bhutan.

Stellantis’ IAP operation is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and it has manufacturing sites there and in India, and a joint venture assembling partnership in Vietnam. Stellantis also has a joint venture with Chinese EV maker Leapmotor and shipped its first volume of battery EVs from China to Europe in July, including the T03 and C10. It has also confirmed that the first pre-production units of the Leapmotor T03 model have been assembled at the Stellantis manufacturing site in Tychy, Poland.
