Equipment maker JCB has signed a three-year contract with TVS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) to manage in-plant warehousing at its Vadodara facility in the Indian state of Gujurat. The logistics provider already provides service parts warehousing for JCB in Bhaproda, Haryana state.

Under the new contract TVS SCS manage warehousing at the Vadodara plant, from unloading and storage of parts to picking and lineside feeding. The logistics provider will deploy material handling equipment and employ close to 110 personnel.

JCB’s £65m ($82.9m) Vadodra plant manufactures fabrications and components for JCB’s assembly plants globally. It opened in 2022. Having established itself in India through a joint venture in 1079, JCB now has six factories in India, including in Delhi, Pune and Jaipur, and said it is the country’s largest producer of construction equipment. It has more than 60 dealers and about 700 service outlets across the country, which are supplied from parts warehouses at Pune, Bengaluru, Bhaproda, Kolkata and Guwahati.

In July this year Daimler Truck’s division in south-east Asia signed a five-year contract with TVS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) to manage its logistics centre in Singapore. The logistics provider is streamlining the throughput of service parts to Daimler Truck’s distributor network of dealers and workshops across 16 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
